Clothing Diva?

I know St. Patrick's Day is still a few weeks away but I saw these funky glasses and got them for Kate thinking that she would love to wear the around since she likes to be "preddy" as she would say. Well as you can see from the picture she didn't like them. I think she was crying over how they didn't match her outfit more than anything. Lately Kate has been waking up with the need to pick out her own clothes and if I don't put what she has pulled out of her closet on her, let me tell you, instant breakdown. Are kids really supposed to be that into what they want to wear at one, or do I just have a very vain daughter? Maybe I should stop taking her shopping with me, but that would mean I couldn't shop, so that won't happen. :) Guess I just have to teach her what matches, quickly!

Until she learns how to match things you can always put matching outfits away together so she can only choose from those. All the others are out of reach/sight. Or just put a few outfits within her reach to choose from this way you both get your way...she gets to pick & you get matching clothes without the extra fight.

I lost wardrobe control with my first daughter around age 1....I'm barely hanging on with my 2nd daughter, age 2 1/2.....and bringing up the rear is my boy...he's only 4 months old, but I have high hopes that he isn't going to give a hoot what I put on him. =-) Agh - mothering girls....so much fun.
