Candy on the Go

A couple of weeks ago we made the drive to the big city. The one that has the Target and Old Navy that is about an hour and half away! While there we were going to all of the stores, because who know when we would be back and I had to go to all of them, right? Anyways, I knew Kate was going to get a little cranky with getting in and out of the car and not really being able to run around. So we stopped at the store the Cracker Barrel, which is a restuarant too, and got kate one of the stick pieces of candy. You know the ones that look like peppermint sticks but come in all different flavors. I thought this would be a great "little" treat for her to keep her busy while we shopped at Sam's Club. Little did I know that the cotton candy piece I picked out for her would do this:

This is in the middle of eating it and it did get much worse. I found sticky blue candy everywhere! I can't believe a stick of candy that barely had blue on it would make this mess. Of course I forgot the wipes in the car and Kate was over it before she finished it so she gave me the rest of the stick to hold, so fun! Plus she hates to be dirty right now so she wanted to be cleaned up right away. I was extremely happy to find the restroom and I have learned to never give my toddler this again while we don't have a bath close by!

So much fun. How we learn the firsts and lasts on a whim...why did nobody ever tell us not give give our toddlers candy sticks because they are messy! I guess now the advice has been given...thanks!
