Time with Mike
A couple weeks ago we had Ronnie's brother Mike here and we spent time just hanging out and enjoying family around. We went to Dallas for a day of tourism. It started off with going to the Man Mall (Bass Pro Shop) where the guys went to look at guns, bows, knives, golfing equip etc...Kate and I were just along for the ride on that one. Then we went for a tour of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium and all I can say is Wow, and that was the stadium that is being retired after this season! There is a hole in the roof that I found out is so that "God can watch his favorite team play" oh brother :) and we actually got to go out on the field and play with some footballs for 15 minutes. I thought it was amazing that they let us go out on the field and mess around, so cool! After that we went to the grassy knoll and saw where JFK was shot, there are actually two x's in the road, the first is for the shot in the back and the second is for the fatal shot to the head. I didn't remember that one from history class. It was neat to be so close to so much history. From there we headed to the Texas State Fair. This was the third fair that Kate and I have been to this year and by far the best! I ate a fried chocolate truffle that was to die for! Ronnie had fried jelly belly's which were ok. There was a ton more food that we wanted to try but our tummies could only handle so much and there is always next year to try the fried coke and fried smore's :) Kate got to go on the carousel again and then it was time to head home. When Mike left to go home Kate stood at the window and cried "No Mike" it totally broke my heart but I told her that we would see him soon and after a while she calmed down and was her usual self. I think it will take some time getting used to family visiting and not having them around the corner.

Hi my friend! I miss you soo much. I was looking at the pictures and Kate is growing so big. You're hair is getting longer and I really liked your sunglasses. I miss just knowing you are down the street. By the way, so cool on the stadium tour...that is super sweet!
